After the Aeschbi show i stayed on the ball having some yodeling concerts and some jazz/blues concerts. Then i made the decision to concentrate fully on my musical self and it has been difficult especially because i was used to having a steady income and with this career change i had to hassle alot to try get into the swiss music scene. I must say i have been extremely lucky and thank the Lord for that.

Of course i had some really bad moments, i won’t post all but just to give you a feel -

like when i was supposed to perform a Christmas concert with my sister for a private club and the pianist they had on a regular basis didn’t want to make time to run through the songs with us. He played the music in the key he knew and we tried to sing them in that key which was a TOTAL disaster! Needless to say the club cancelled our next gig! That was a while back and i learn’t and am still learning from my mistakes.

Then there have been the great moments like meeting Aloe Black and Quincy Jones on the same evening at the Maybach party during the Cannes film festival this year. Doing a yodel for Quincy - i somehow got the feeling he was wondering why i torture myself with it…. hihihihi - simple i love it!

Or doing a spontaneous tv interview with Erik the Chef from Swissdinner on TeleZüri after my concert at the Maserati booth during the pre-opening party on 2nd November of the Auto Messe Zürich /Car Exhibitions in Zürich.

I’ve neglected writing here, i apologise but i had quiet a whirlwind going on around me. I will just sumarise it to keep you upto date then i’ll try and keep up with the blog.

So, i finally got my own radio programme which i host every first Monday of the month. It’s not easy but i love doing it.I had to do a course in radio journalism before i applied and was not even sure i would be accepted.The first Radio station Toxic fm in Sain Gallen were not willing to take the risk with me before my knowledge od Swiss politics and the government was limited, although, i am a fast learner. Me and hoework we are tight friends - it’s the key to ALOT!

Well anyway, the name of the Programme is ‘Femme Fatale Radio’ at the Lora Radio station here are the frequencies below…

Seit meinem TV-Auftritt bei Aeschbacher ist bei mir die Hölle los. Ich renne von einem Termin zum anderen – aber das Gute ist, mir macht das riesig Spass. Bereits die zwei Wochen vor dem Auftritt sah meine Agenda wie das Terminbuch eines überlasteten Staatspräsidenten aus. Mir war’s noch so recht, dass ich vor dem Auftritt im Schweizer Fernsehen zwar viele Business- und Stylingtermine hatte, dafür etwas weniger auf der Bühne stand. So konnte ich meine Stimme in aller Ruhe schonen. Zum Glück ist dann auch alles gut über die Bühne gegangen. Jetzt geht’s aber richtig los mit Interviewterminen, Presseanfragen und vielen, vielen Telefonanrufen von Berufskollegen und Freunden.

Wie so oft im wirklichen Leben, liegen auch im Aidswaisenhaus KISUMU KENYA Licht und Dunkel in grellen Kontrasten beisammen. Die aktuellen Nachrichten, die ich von meiner Mutter aus Kenia erhalten habe, sind erdrückend. Vor allem die Zahlen über die Entwicklung der tückischen Seuche geben wenig Anlass zur Hoffnung. Und dennoch geben wir nicht auf. Meine Mutter setzt ihr Engagement Tag für Tag fort und sorgt dafür, dass die Kinder vor Ort wenigstens das Nötigste in ihrem ständig von Krankheit bedrohten Leben bekommen. Ich fühle mich dafür verantwortlich, ihr bei unseren Gesprächen am Telefon möglichst viel Kraft und Zuversicht zu vermitteln. Dabei ist mir bewusst, dass nebst meiner seelischen Unterstützung vor allem die regelmässige Überweisung der Spendengelder aus der Schweiz ein grosse Hilfe sind.
